Hoppo - A Chrome Tab Switcher
Hoppo: A Better Way to Switch Chrome Tabs

The Problem
I can't switch tabs in my browser the way I can switch applications on my Mac (cmd + tab).
Chrome lets you switch with Cntrl + Tab, but only to the next tab. That really bothers me because I love fullscreen mode to maximize screen real estate and hide distractions, and don't want to go through all tabs like that.
The Solution
Coincidentally I also love gestures, and tiny productivity tools to remove friction, so I built Hoppo + its website (it's free).
How It Works
You switch through tabs with option + q, release q to go to that tab.
It's a tab switch shortcut in Chrome like you have in Application Switcher for mac with cmd + tab.
If I use my mouse I have to interrupt my hand position or focus on the keyboard.
I'd rather just click my keyboard and cycle through my tabs.
I created the 'flick' sound myself with my wired apple headphones to add some personality.

Build Process
-
Started with inspirations on Pinterest for the UI style (I wanted a wheel like effect)
-
Wrote a simple PRD in just a txt file in Cursor including the user functionality and expectations (including a few do's and don'ts)
-
Step by step I built out each feature and functionality, providing the context of the PRD each time
-
Debugging wasn't too bad - it's not perfect (It's AI-code)
-
After all features were assembled I applied the animations and made the sound effect
-
I knew the website style I wanted so I asked V0 to make a clone of Klack, which I then adapted
-
I found the image on Pinterest and loved that it was a guy looking into different portals - used Canva and added a screenshot of the extension on top (I didn't want to add the code, could have made it interactive on page but it was late already)
-
Threw it up on GitHub and deployed to Vercel, added the extension .zip as a direct download link
-
Generated the FAQ from the PRD
Notes
Now I get to use my tab switcher daily and I'm delighted.
